Bartolome Island

Today you will be immersed in the natural beauty of Bartolome Island, set in the heart of the Galapagos archipelago. You will be able to spot sea lions lounging on the beach, meet the endemic Galapagos tropical penguins, encounter abundant marine life while snorkeling and be amazed by the view of the bay and pinnacle rock.

You will drive to the Itabaca Channel in northern Santa Cruz to board the boat that will take you to Bartolome Island. Keep your eyes open during the boat ride to spot whales and dolphins if it’s the season. We’ll hike up to the bay viewpoint from where you will enjoy a 360 view of the island! Snorkel in the emerald clear waters and discover endemic species like Galapagos and white reef sharks, eagle rays, marine turtles, and of course the iconic Galapagos penguins!

After a local lunch, we’ll hang out by a bay rip where you can snorkel. Take your time swimming through the flourishing underwater world, getting intimate looks at sea turtles, schools of stingrays, curious sea lions, and countless tropical fish around pinnacle rock. Breathe in the fresh air of this inhabited island before going back to Santa Cruz.
